For many years, the Town of Hull has officially resolved to designate our annual June celebration as “Hull Pride Day.” In 2026, the following resolution was read into the record by the Hull Select Board at our June event. As in prior years, it was unanimously adopted by the members of the Select Board: Brian McCarthy, Jerry Taverna, Susan Short Green, Greg Grey and Irwin Nesoff.
WHEREAS, The Town of Hull values human rights above all and respects the dignity and worth of every individual, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression; and
WHEREAS, Hull Pride is an LGBTQIA+ community organization that celebrates and promotes Hull’s strength through diversity – principles that are crucial to securing human rights and equality for all; and
WHEREAS, The Town of Hull is a “No Place for Hate” community, committed to equal rights for all and opposed to discrimination in any form; and
WHEREAS, Hull Pride awards scholarships to graduating Hull High School seniors who embody the values of community connection, diversity, acceptance and inclusion; and
WHEREAS, The Town of Hull proudly celebrates the Kenberma Rainbow Crosswalk across Nantasket Avenue at Kenberma Street – a visible and lasting symbol of our town’s commitment to inclusion and LGBTQIA+ visibility; and
WHEREAS, The Town of Hull stands in unwavering support of transgender, non-binary, and gender-diverse people, and recognizes the urgent need to affirm and protect their rights, dignity, and safety, particularly amid a rising tide of hostility and political attacks; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town of Hull is proud to celebrate Saturday, June 6, 2026 as Hull Pride Day – the 13th annual Pride celebration in our community.
The Hull Select Board proclaims the Town of Hull will continue to be a welcoming, affirming and inclusive home for all people.
