Hull FireFly COMING OUT STORIES

Join Hull FireFly Storytelling at Weir River Farm in Hingham (part of The Trustees of Reservation)!

Modeled after The Moth Story Hour on NPR radio, this live storytelling program invites participants to share a 3-5 minute, true story, spoken to an assembled group of friends, family and strangers. Feel free to share a story of your own or sit back and enjoy the stories of others as the magic of live storytelling transforms strangers into a community of acquaintances and friends.

We’ll gather outside at Weir River Farm where our view will overlook the farm pastures with the Boston skyline and Hingham harbor in the distance. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, a picnic dinner or snacks, and a drink of your choice and enjoy stories under the evening sky. June, the month of PRIDE, may be coming to an end, but Hull FireFly still shines brightly, illuminating our common humanity, and gathering us together in its glow.

In honor of PRIDE month, the theme for this Hull FireFly Storytelling is COMING OUT STORIES. Personal stories of coming out to friends, family, colleagues, or being on the receiving end of a coming out story. Please plan to share a true story to inform, to inspire and to entertain some new friends – or just sit back and listen! Speakers are limited to 3-5 minutes.

Pre-registration is required for this event here. This event has a rain date of Wednesday, June 28. In the event of rescheduling or cancellation, you will be notified via the email address you used to register. In the event of cancellation you will be refunded in full within 14 business days. Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable.

Parking is available in the lot located across from the Studio at 140 Turkey Hill Lane.

We love our furry friends, however, as this is a working farm with animals, dogs are not permitted on the property.

"Bans Off Our Bodies" Event

Event organized by the Women’s March:

“On May 2nd, we learned from a leaked draft opinion that SCOTUS is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade, stripping the constitutional right to abortion in spite of fifty years of precedent.

The Supreme Court is making their official decision on abortion rights in June. Once that happens, 26 states could move quickly to ban abortion, meaning millions of people could live without local access to abortion care.

Roe has always been the floor, not the ceiling. Many Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and other people of color experience barriers to accessing abortions. The people in your community and across the country deserve the power and freedom to make their own personal reproductive health care decisions.

We have to act NOW, all across the country. Together we will send a strong message that we're not backing down. Supporting abortion access must be protected and defended.”

Hull Pride Virtual Trivia Night

Join Triviamasters Tim and drag queen Trampolina for a fun night of virtual trivia.

How will it work?

Our hosts will create a series of fun trivia questions.

You will join our trivia Zoom room on your computer tinyurl.com/hptriviaparty to see the question and the 4 answer options.

Your “game controller” is your iPhone/Samsung/smart device on either the Kahoot! app OR by going to https://kahoot.it . You will select the answer you think is correct. If you’re correct, you get points. If you are wrong… are you still with me…?

You will see how you stack up as time goes on. The winner receives satisfaction and possibly applause. If you’re like Lady Gaga, this is what you live for I suppose.

IMPORTANT: You'll need to download the trivia app called Kahoot! in order to participate, but feel free to come and hang out if you just want some company.

**This is a free community event sponsored by Hull Pride, though donations are encouraged to help support our causes.**
