Hull Pride Open Meeting

Every year Hull Pride takes an informal break after our June celebration and then regroups in September.

During our first meeting back, we hold an “open meeting” where anyone in the community can join us, learn a bit about our plans and mission and then see if they want to join us in a more meaningful way.

Each year, we get a few new people who join our board, which meets on a monthly basis via hybrid in-person and Zoom.

The commitment is as much as you like, but the work is primarily focused on being part of the volunteer team that runs our community events, initiatives and scholarship awarding process.

If you have any further questions, feel free to email us at hullpridema@gmail.com.

Annual Hull Pride Celebration: Freedom by the Sea

FREEDOM BY THE SEA returns again to the Hull Yacht Club.

This year, we will kick off with a performance from Mad Jupiter, a trans/nonbinary Boston-based artist whose music fuses neo-soul and funk with hard-hitting rock grooves.  This will be followed by performances from returning drag queen favorite Missy Steak. Then the day will move into a DJ dance party with Hull Pride’s in house DJs Jason and Suzy.

There will also be food trucks and a return from the team at Such Fun Photo Booth.

No admission fee. Donations welcome to help support our annual diversity scholarship to a local graduating Hull senior, which will be awarded that day.

Planned schedule:

  • Welcome, introductions, scholarship award - 3pm-4pm

  • Performance from Mad Jupiter - 4pm-5pm

  • Drag performance from Missy Steak followed by DJ dance party - 5pm-end

TRANSPORTATION NOTE:

Parking at the Hull Yacht Club is free, but limited. If possible, carpool or take the MBTA 714 bus which runs the length of Nantasket Avenue through Hull and also connects to the ferry dock at Pemberton Point. Service runs in each direction approximately every 30 minutes. Cost is just $1.70 to ride which can be paid in cash or via contactless payment. The bus can be hailed at any safe spot along the route, and you can ask the driver to drop you off directly in front of the yacht club.
